Malaysia jams mobile spies

Malaysian flagYep, in order to stop mobiles being used for spying, the Malaysian government has banned mobiles from certain offices and installed electronic jamming devices in others. Funnily enough, it doesn’t want to say exactly where the jammers are, but does admit they’re out there, somewhere.

Malaysia’s top bureaucrat, Mohamed Sidek Hassan, is quoted as saying, “The widespread use of these devices, especially handphones with camera facilities, has serious implications on security.” And there was that time someone snapped him wearing a Hawaiian shirt on dress-down Fridays…
