Nokia and Samsung push mobile TV

Samsung and Nokia logosMobile technology giants Nokia and Samsung have announced that they’re going to work together to push the DVB-H standard for mobile TV forward. Nokia’s press release states:

‘To encourage greater adoption of broadcast mobile TV services and accelerate service deployment, Samsung and Nokia today announced they will work to achieve interoperability among their DVB-H (Digital Video Broadcast - Handheld) enabled mobile devices and the open standards based Nokia network services system.’

Which is basically great news for mobile TV, especially following on from last week’s news that several European heavyweights are also planning to work together on the format. The only thing we haven’t heard is solid word of which content providers are on-board… but build it, Nokia, Samsung et al, and they shall come, we think.
