
Okay, enough with the technological advancement-crossover-malarky! Nissan is looking into blending phone GPS tech into its cars in order to track pedestrian movements so to help avoid road accidents. Positional data from peds’ mobiles would be transmitted to cars via servers.
On the one hand, yes, it’s very cool and people aren’t perfect so perhaps the world needs this. On the other hand, maybe we could just pay a little more attention to the speed limit and where we’re going while driving through town. And, er, what if you’ve left your phone at home on the day that Nissan-driving company exec misses his morning latte…?
