It’s not enough nowadays to be great at ollies, grinds and triple-camel doppeltwists if you’re a skateboarder. If you haven’t heard of that last move, by the way, you’re just not cool enough.
Anyway, modern skaters need web skillz as well as nifty moves. Why? To post clips of their greatness on YouTube, of course.
Now extreme sports firm Yamgo is aiming to snag a few of those vids, with the launch of its own video-sharing service. Yamgo.tv is a website, but also has a mobile equivalent, Yamgo.mobi.
Users can upload vids directly from their phones, as well as watching those from other users. It’s free to use, although you’ll still pay operator data charges. Yamgo also plans to feature other kinds of mobile TV content, including live broadcasts, mobisodes and downloads. It’s focused on extreme sports for now, but will expand in the future to related areas.
