Finally! After rumours popped-up over the weekend on the Everything iPhone forums, a US launch date of 29th June for Apple’s iPhone has just been confirmed by an AT&T TV advert. The spot, which ran during CBS’ 60 Minutes show, went through some of the phone’s features and ended with the news that everyone has been waiting to hear: that Apple’s new handset will make it out in June. Just.
This is a very non-Apple/ non-Steve Jobs way to announce such a major date — we’re surprised it’s happened this way. Still, it’s been a long time coming, and we’re now looking forward to hearing what Jobs has to say about his new baby at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference on 11th June.
Updated: the adverts are not by AT&T but by Apple. Click here for details.
