The new Apple ads also confirm that iPhone will — initially at least — be on a two-year contract in the States. Wow. We thought the creep towards tying Brits to their new handset for 18-months was bad enough. Let’s hope that the iPhone really is all it’s cracked up to be, because you wouldn’t want to be lumped with a handset you didn’t like for two years.
Obviously business patterns are different across continents, so lets hope that Apple isn’t expecting there to be a similar contract duration in the UK. There has also been talk of the iPhone being available on pay-as-you-go in the States, and that may also be the case in the UK as well.
