Samsung’s pint-sized phone with 3.2-megapixel camera, by Jasper Morrison

Korea’s Samsung has just announced this tidy little handset, the SGH-E590, which has been sculpted by noted industrial designer Jasper Morrison. Morrison previously designed some handset concepts for Samsung back in 2003, but this is the first that’s come to market. The handset measures just 94 x 42 x 13.5mm and tips the scales at 66g, less than half the weight of Nokia’s new 8600.

The SGH-E590 has Bluetooth 2.0 and USB 2.0, can play MP3/ AAC/ WMA, has a 220 x 220 pixel screen, and most impressively has a 3.2-megapixel camera with autofocus, panorama function and a ‘half shutter’ (whatever that is). The handset also has 90MB of memory and a slot for (we guess) a microSD card. We think this is a cool little phone. It’s destined to arrive in Europe this month. Oh, and you get that ‘bean bag’ tripod in the box too.
