In a nutshell, Jaiku is the new Twitter. It’s a micro-blogging service that lets you tell all your friends that you’ve just eaten a ham sandwich, and other essential information. However, it’s had mobile as a key element from the start, with an application for Series 60 phones.
Sadly, it was in closed beta for a while, so if you hadn’t signed up early, you couldn’t get it. However, it’s now freely available, and if you’re at all interested in this micro-blogging lark, it’s worth grabbing. It lets you post updates, but also includes presence features, so you can share your availability, location and calendar with friends.
