Truephone v3.0 upgrade swaggers out of Beta territory

release.jpgWe have been following the Beta of the newest version of the Truphone software for a couple of weeks and now the finished upgrade is available and crammed with a rioting crowd of new features all jostling for attention.

First of all is the addition of 3G compatibility meaning that both WiFi and 3G are supported by the software. As always however, make absolutely sure you know what you are paying for your data tariff and what your carrier’s stance on VoIP apps is before you start using it. There is a new feature that lets you know when your Truphone friends are online and more importantly if you are able to call or sms them for free.

There has been a Multi-SIM feature added which allows all of your calls to be routed to your handset’s Truphone software, even if you have switched to an international SIM card. The new version also manages multiple WiFi access points and has support for more routers. Last of all the software is reported to be easier to install too.

This is mobile VoIP done how it should be; let’s just hope the big carriers relax their rules as more of you lot start demanding the abilitly to use cool apps like this.
