It seems VoIP really is starting to gain an unstoppable locomotive momentum. A deal has just been stuck that will give Vyke users access to any of the nine thousand wi-fi hotspots across Europe operated by The Cloud.
The mobile VoIP software developer Vyke is no doubt looking to cement its credentials as a serious player in the increasingly competitive VoIP market. Seeing as VoIP allows for free international calls (assuming you have the necessary data tariff and permission from your carrier), the partnership with Europe’s leading wi-fi operator, The Cloud, places the emphasis of this deal squarely on roaming users who have understandably proven to be some of mobile VoIP’s keenest exponents.
With deals like this making mobile VoIP increasingly straightforward, some of the less easily budged carriers may need to evolve or go the way of the dodo.
