Samsung has entered into a partnership with MusicNet to launch a new (another one!) music download and subscription service in Germany, France and the UK. The service will ship on Samsung’s K3, K5, and T9 music handsets but a software update will be made available to make some older Samsung handsets compatible.
The subscription service is unique in that it allows unlimited downloads and listens as long as the subscription is valid, meaning that you only own the songs you download for as long as you are paying your subscription. If you want to own the songs permanently you will be able to buy individual tracks for €1.15, or here in the UK 0.79p.
The monthly subscriptions will cost €14.99 in Germany and France, and £10.25 in the UK. Samsung is planning a ‘marketing blitz’ to accompany the service and the handsets it runs on.
