Nokia N95 firmware update goes live

060926_1f.jpgThe firmware update 12.0.013 for the feature daddy of the mobile crowd, the N95, is now available via the Nokia Software Upgrader. Unfortunatley a changlog has not been released so all we know so far is that the update includes the ‘hotly anticipated’ Assisted-GPS feature.

If any of you N95 users out there get a chance to play around with the new firmware, do drop us a line to let us know of any interesting changes you notice.

The reason you have had this problem is that your themes will not be compatible with the new firmware or it has been overwritten and you need to reinstall it. Just hope you did a backup before you upgraded or it is lost forever!

How / where do I get the firmware update?

Make sure you have the latest version of PC Suite installed (only works on Windows XP and Vista) and there should be an ‘update firmware’ or similar option. You can get PC Suite from here:

…but make sure you backup your contacts and messages to a memory card, or to your PC, before you start the update because it will wipe your phone. You can use PC Suite to do this too.
