Samsung officially launches G600 Ultra slider with five-megapixel camera

samg 600JPG.jpgSamsung finally launched its much rumoured five-megapxiel camera phone in London tonight and Pocket Picks can reveal it’s the G600. We managed to get our hands on the slimline Ultra slide and have to admit that Samsung has done an amazing job fitting a five-megapixel lens into such a svelte chassis, with the G600 joining Nokia’s N95 in the cameraphone elite.

The G600 measures just 14.9mm thick and follows the same design lines as the U600 and U700… But unfortunately it’s only 2.75G, supporting EDGE download speeds. The five-megapixel snapper boasts autofocus and has macro for close ups, and ships with a 1GB microSD card for storage. The music player mirrors the one last seen in the F300 but most notably you can simultaneously sync two Bluetooth headphones. The web browser also sports a mouse hand icon for navigation.

The G600 is expected to be available in August and a Samsung spokesperson said all networks are set to sign it up.
