Samsung could emulate LG’s ‘Prada’ phone this Christmas, after it emerged that Samsung is close to a deal with Giorgio Armani for an exclusive fashion phone for Europe.
According to speculation spreading across the web, we could even see the handset as early as October in Europe, and it could even be a re-branded F700 or ‘Ultra Smart’ (right).
Of course, this wouldn’t be the first time Samsung has joined forces with a luxury brand – last year Samsung and Bang & Olufsen together released the $1,000 ‘Serene’ phone.
Nor is this even the first time Samsung has worked with Armani. In October 2006 it launched the limited edition Exchange Armani Ultra Edition 6.9. It was so limited, only 1,000 were ever released.
Like all the best internet rumours, this emerged from reports in Korean newspapers about a potential Samsung-Armani tie-up, forcing a Samsung spokesperson in Korea to confirm the two companies are in talks. They even hinted the fashion phone might even be the start of a whole range of “IT luxury productsâ€.
