With our nation going ape over Facebook et al, here’s news of yet another social networking service to give our pitiful lives some meaning. Mobikade has come over all the way from Japan and we’re told is ultra popular with the urban Nippon kids right now. It’s already launched in the UK but where this service differs from the likes of Facebook is that it’s accessed entirely from your mobile handset. Because PC adoption is lower in Japan than over here in Blighty, the internet is generally accessed via the mobile phone.
Mobikade is similar to the likes of micro-blogging services like Jaiku and Twitter where friends can hear of your every move no matter how inconsequential — unscheduled bog breaks, how many Jaffa Cakes you had with your cuppa, that sort of thing — but you can also earn points the more you update. And you know what points mean? Prizes! Yes, all the points you amass can be used to send free texts, put into a monthly prize draw giveaway or used to download games.
Sounds interesting? You can register here to start Mobikading.
