The Boy Genius Report has got its grubby little mitts on some confidential documents outlining the next line of BlackBerry handsets including a Pearl EDGE-enabled model with built-in Wi-Fi and a CDMA version with built-in GPS for sat nav. The document also mentions news of the 8310 Curve and 8820 devices but Pocket Picks has already given you a head up on these smarties.

As well as built-in Wi-Fi, the BlackBerry Pearl 2 also have some other interesting improvements on the original, including a hotswappable microSD card slot, an integrated 3.5mm headphone socket just like the 8300 Curve while the camera lens has been hiked from 1.3 to two-megapixels. You might also be able to to tell from the picture that the design has been tweaked with a new wavy keyboard and firmer button technology. However we’re not certain whether all this new tech gubbins will effect the Pearl’s lovely sleek torso but let’s hope not. The document also suggests these handset will arrive around October/November time or in the Fall in you live in America.
