Sony Ericsson’s new K770 Cyber-shot cameraphone arrives on cue

K770 1As predicted yesterday, Sony Ericsson has announced a new Cyber-shot cameraphone this morning, the K770, to sit below the K850i in its range. But ‘below’ doesn’t necessarily mean ‘low’, as the K770 comes with a 3.2MP shooter, a 1.9″ QVGA (240 x 320 pixel but it only has 262,000-colour support) screen, and a 256MB Memory Stick Micro in the box.

On top of that, the K770 features several dedicated photo-friendly features, including autofocus, 3x digital zoom, and (claimed to be) powerful LED light to improve low-light shooting. Shots can be fixed using on-board image correction software, uploaded direct to your blog, or sideloaded from the phone to your PC over USB 2.0.

Also, when you switch into camera mode, special icons are illuminated under eight of the keys to aid with the picture taking process. The camera itself is activated by sliding open the camera cover on the back of the K770.

    1.9 inch screen??? pass

Well, the viewfinder on our old Sony DSC-P150 digital camera is only 1.8″ and that’s fine to use. Depends what you’re looking for; the K770 seems designed to offer as much camera functionality as possible while not making the handset too thick.

Im getting this on upgrade. i could have gone for one of the 5 megapixel phones like the k850i, but they are too big and clunky. i think the 5mp phones where rushed out for xmas and are messy. they lack the refinement of this phone.
I wasnt keen on it at first till i went into a shop and held it… it just feels right.

go test it out i bet you love it!
