Turn your mobile into a motion-sensing security cam that can SMS or email you

SensyScan

That’s what the maker of SensyScan is claiming, anyway. The S60 app uses your phone’s camera to ‘motion-track’ people as they enter a room, also allowing you set ‘hot spots’ to focus on a particular area. No seriously, come back, we’re not kidding.

You can start and stop the motion sensor by sending the app an SMS, and also ask it to MMS you back with a current photo (pretty cool). Once movement is detected, SensyScan can then be configured to either send an email to you, or a text message… To… Er… Your mobile phone that’s just been pinched from your house by the thief it detected.

We tried downloading the ‘trial’ version from Clickapps but while Sensyscan installed okay, it’s asking for a registration code. So if you want to give this one a go, looks like you’ll have to shell out $24.99 (£12.50) to see whether it really does live up to its promise.

Motion detection is not really hard thing to implement. If there was face recognition in you mobile! Also it could very fast run down battery of the mobile.

Yeah but… but… it turns your mobile into a motion tracker! Like in Aliens! Er, sort of.
