Serenata billed as successor to Bang & Olufsen’s Serene handset

samsung-f310-bangolufsen-serenata.jpgBack in May Pocket Picks brought you blueprint designs of the sequel to the B&O Serene mobile. It was impossible to tell from the technical drawings what the Serene II design would look like but now, courtesy of some leaked images, we can finally make sense of those diagrams. The follow-up to the original collaboration between Samsung and Bang & Olufsen has been christened the Serenata (or Samsung F310) and it looks like the ‘dream team’ has learnt from its mistakes with the Serene.

Anyone who has the (mis)pleasure of using the Serene will know its a bar steward to operate despite its design being utterly unique. Not only that but its spec was pretty crud too. It appears B&O/ Samsung have ditched the circular keypad and clamshell design but from the picture we can’t tell if the Serenata adopts a slider design or if that’s part of the desktop charging dock. However our source does report a jog wheel and touch-screen for navigation. We’ve also been told that is will be HSDPA (1.8Mbps variety) enabled and pack 4GB of internal memory, so it shows its moved with the times.
