I-Play has confirmed its first games for Nokia’s N-Gage on-device games platform. World Rally Championship and Super Mah Jong will be released this Autumn.
I-Play is focusing on casual ‘one-thumb’ mass market games for N-Gage, encouraging ‘dip in dip out’ gaming with simple yet challenging games.
It’s believed Nokia is working on some first-party games for N-Gage, and more mobile games publishers are expected to get on board in the near future.
The N-Gage used to be standalone gaming mobiles but poor sales and a general consumer apathy to the devices forced Nokia to rethink its mobile gaming strategy. The result is the N-Gage made-for-mobile games platform compatible with NSeries and other Symbian phones, which can connect to the N-Gage Arena mobile gaming community.

Interesting…. Why only NOW? N-Gage was hot in 2003…. Are they trying to play against Apple’s iPhone now?
This is the new N-Gage, which isn’t a phone but a service and standard, a bit like Xbox Live for compatible Nokias.
