Pocket Picks gave you the heads up here on the imminent arrival of the BlackBerry 8130 Curve with built in GPS on Vodafone and it appears the network has officially grabbed the exclusive rights to hawk the device. You can pick up the 8130 from 3rd September to 31st October only on Voda and if you connect to the BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS) through the network’s store or online shop you gain a free year’s subscription to Voda’s sat nav service. We assume if you don’t sign up to BIS you will have to stump up cash to gain access to its navigation privileges, although at this point in time we’re unsure of the pricing structure.
Vodafone Sat Nav is powered by Tel Map and we’re guessing maps for your chosen routes are downloaded over-the-air although again, we’re not entirely cetain. However you’re privy to neat features like traffic alerts updates, weather reports and restaurant reviews. Apart from the built-in GPS receiver, the 8310 is identical in design and feature set to the original 8300 Cruve and this includes a two-megapixel camera, built-in music player with integrated 3.5mm headhone jack and a microSD card slot for boosting storage options.
