There it officially is in all its sleek beauty: LG’s KU990 non-Prada touch-screen handset, complete with five-megapixel camera and lens optics by Germany’s Schneider Kreuznach (German + lens = sounds impressive). LG has promised it will land on European shores by October, so even with a bit of slippage it should be in the UK well before Christmas. And for some reason, it’s also calling the phone the ‘Viewty’, which probably sounds better in Korean.
Specs-wise, the KU990 boasts image stabilisation tech and support for shooting at ISO 800 (for better pics in low light), autofocus, a flash, image correction software, and moblogging features for sharing your shots — including direct uploading to YouTube of videos. Movie clips can be recorded at a pointlessly fast 120 frames per second.
There’s also that 3″ touch-screen, 170MB of on-board memory, support for microSD cards, and all the usual USB/ Bluetooth shenanigans you’d expect in a phone of this class. And this phone does have a lot of class. Hit the jump for two fat ‘n’ tasty pictures, and otherwise expect to hear more at the end of this month when the phone is unveiled in the flesh at Berlin’s IFA electronics show.
