Makayama’s Mobile TV Center is designed to make watching mobile TV video on your phone or other portable device about as easy as possible. Running as an extension to Microsoft’s Media Center version of Windows (XP or Vista), Mobile TV Center automatically converts any TV shows you record on your PC into the right format for your mobile gizmo.
Obviously this isn’t proper DVB-H/ 1Seg-style live mobile TV, but we’re thinking it might actually be more useful. If you’re collecting your favourite shows on your PC, Mobile TV Center offers a pain-free automated way of getting them on the go. Just insert your mobile’s storage card in your PC and the latest converted shows are copied over.
Compatible with dozens of devices (including PSP and iPod), Mobile TV Center’s one drawback is that it’s not particularly cheap, priced at $36.95 (£18.50) on Clickapps. But if you’re a TV addict with a Windows Media Center PC this could be right up your Coronation Street.
