Nokia’s MOSH mobile social networking site opens its doors for public beta

MOSH

Nokia’s new MObile SHaring site (MOSH, in case you didn’t get that), has shifted gears from its closed trial version to a public beta (work-in-progress). The site is all about connecting mobile users, either via their PC or their handset, with a wide variety of content.

On the MOSH site you’ll find mobile-friendly videos, apps, games, images (including the obligatory pics of chicks), and docs (such as the complete works of Shakespeare in text format, for those really, really long train journeys). All of this is connected through a profile system that tracks and rates you as a ‘contributor’, ‘collector’ and ’sharer’.

The site is pretty well put together, although there are one or two notable omissions (such as the lack of playback controls on videos). To be honest, we’re kind of left wondering why it’s taken Nokia so long to get around to doing something like MOSH — but hey, it’s here now and you should definitely check it out.
