HTC has officially announced the follow-up to the TyTN on its website here. The snappily titled TyTN II (aka HTC Kaiser) is similarly in build and design to the original device but packs a far superior feature set. Now the sequel runs of the latest Windows Mobile 6 OS, ups the maximum HSDPA download speeds to 3.6Mbps, takes photos with a three-megapixel snapper and includes built-in GPS with TomTom sat nav software.

HTC has also loaded a new look proprietary Home screen and a rather handy tilting QGVA-quailty touch-screen. You just slide open the phone to reveal the full QWERTY keyboard, then tilt the display towards. The screen is on hinges and is designed for enhanced ergonomic web browsing and touch-typing. T-Mobile has already signed up the TyTN II as the third incarnation of the MDA Vario series and we expect other networks to follow suit.

    Hi all,

Just purchased this phone. I have played with it for over 3 days now and i absolutely love it. The phone very much compliments the vario series and works with all windows based software. the slick new slide pull & push out of the keyboard is wonderful as is the flip 40 degree angle of the screen. Software programs that did not work with the other microsoft OS now work fine with this model. This phone is the one. It’s slightly bigger by about a couple of mm than the MDA compact so I am using my old MDA silicon case until i recieve my new one from ebay. Access to the internet is now acceptable and very fast all web site’s vistited have superfast connects and web browsing. This is surely gonna lead the pack of 2007-2008 future proof phones. only the iphone can come anywhere close but even the iphone lacks the future proof feature’s of this mobile god. Only the price tag may put off the weak pocket individual but the strong pocket person will buy this in huge numbers. Every feature has been twicked and improved i.e. When you put the device in wide angle mode left/right sided. It now stay’s in this mode until you take it back out wonderful unlike its older model which would revert back to normal mode when you open and slide the keypad back and forth. And one new feature - the phone goes into standby when you are talking on the phone saving you valuable battery time and energy. This phone speak for itself just check it out asap.

    Regards.

    MDA VARIO III PHONE LOVER.

P.s If I could marry a phone well this would be my perfect wife.
