Hands On Mobile launch revenue sharing user generated mobile video site

capture_07092007_115936.jpgHands-On Mobile has just launched a new mobile video sharing service called Yatta Video. Like Ericsson’s Me-On-TV, Yatta Video is all about the ease of use via mobile phones, with the twist that users can earn money for submitting clips. Videos are uploaded to the site by simply sending the video via MMS. Your video is then checked (to screen out nasties etc) and uploaded to the site where others will be able to then download your masterpiece/clip of your drunken mate falling over, to their handset.

Videos can be rated and the more a user’s submitted video is viewed and rated, the more cash they can earn. The one drawback of paying people to upload is that you need to charge people to download and videos from Yatta cost between 50 cents and one Euro. The submitter of any given video earns 10 percent of the proceeds, which once they reach 15 Euros are paid via PayPal.

It all sounds like a great idea to us, the only setback for us Brits is that currently the site is only in French. Seeing as this is from Hands-On Mobile however, who offer mobile services and content around the globe, we are hopeful that the site will get an English translation at some point.
