capture_17092007_165424.jpgIf it’s mobile reviews your after then our sister site Pocket Gamer ought to be the first port of call being that it is absolutely crammed with them. Over the course of the last week, nine titles went under the microscope.

The first of them was Bumper Car City, a title which offered the seemingly attractive prospect of being able to drive a dodgem car around city streets, wasn’t as much fun as it sounds scoring 6 out of 10 due to being a tad repetitive.

Significantly better was Wold Poker Tour: Texas Hold’Em 2 (multiplayer) which managed an effortless 9 out of 10 for its multiplayer update on an already rock solid title.

Keeping the quality bar high was Football Party, a football themed mini-game compilation that earned 7 out of 10 for its wealth of content and nicely integrated sporting twist.

Following on from last week’s two excellent Digital Chocolate connected games from its Café cannon of titles was Café Hold’Em Poker. Straight up poker action and the dependably robust connectivity element earned this title 8 out of 10.

Maintaining the high standards was Petz, a mobile pet sim that proved to be of superior breeding pawing an 8 out of 10 score.

Phoenix Wright: The Turnabout Sisters didn’t fare so well falling victim to a criminal pricing system that capped its score at 5 out of 10 despite some decent court room drama.

Making a valiant attempt at plugging the RTS gap on mobiles was Anarchy 2087, a title accomplished but not refined yet still worthy of 7 out of 10.

Similarly unrefined and plagued by an overtly steep difficulty curve was Brain Shock which still managed to charm a 7 out of 10 score due to its unbridled innovation.

Last of all was the bland but challenging Team Up which claimed an uninspiring 5 out of 10 score to match its flavourless puzzle action.

A weak ending to a strong week then. Be sure to check back in seven days time for more advice on which games you can’t live without and which to avoid as though your life depended on it.
