The Carphone Warehouse is to sell the first mobile phone from Levi Strauss, the jeans maker.
The retailer has signed a deal for ‘tens of thousands’ of the phones to be sold here in the UK and across the continent through its European arm, The Phone House. The phone – designed by French design house ModeLabs - will go on sale next month.
The handset will be available in metallic silver, black and brown copper colours, plus two editions also aimed at women in ‘Shiny Silver’ and ‘Shiny Sand’ editions with mirrored screens. It features a two-megapixel camera, microSD card slot, stereo Bluetooth, MP3 player and quad-band capabilities and it has a custom-designed user interface and 1.8-inch display.
As well as the phone, accessories such as Bluetooth earpieces, cases, chains and charms will also be available under the Levi’s Mobile Collection tag.
We unveiled this phone back in June, but at the time Levi’s was said to be in talks to find an operator partner. With no announcement on an operator partner yet, and no pricing confirmation so far, it seems the reported Sim-free price of £270-£340 still holds.

so will there be a specially-sized pocket in nextgen jeans?
