LG’s high-end Viewty handset takes a bow

Viewty

Just a quick note to say that LG’s rather lovely touch-screen Viewty, aka the KU990, is now shipping across Europe. Curiously, the Viewty had made an appearance on T-Mobile’s Coming Soon pages but has disappeared completely from the operator’s site. However, the handset has now appeared on the Orange site so keep an eye on that for pricing.

With a five-megapixel camera and 3″ touch-screen with WQVGA (240 x 400 pixel) resolution, we think the Viewty has the makings of a sleeper hit. Click the jump to check out the KU990’s full specs.

Got it! and what a phone it seems to be! im usualy a sony ericsson p series customer but i fancied a change so was thinking of the n95 then my son mentioned that this phone was due out so i trhought id take a gander….impressive!
Im on the “3″ network so i dont know if the software is the same for all handsets but the muvee feature is frather tasty, the 5.1mp camera is realy good and the video capture feature set is excelent esp the slow motion capture.

Thing I aint so keen on are the lens surround also being the scroll wheel (surely a couple of buttons on the side would have worked better?)
lack of WIFI (but with my contract i get unlimited 3G internet so it isnt a problem for me)
also the software for my pc dosnt seem to see the phone corectly (im using vista but will try it on xp soon).
and the fact that there is no bundled mini sd card (they are so cheap now and on such a high end phone they could have at least put in a half gig card)

I would quite happily recomend this phone to anyone!
