There’s a slight controversy on the internet this afternoon, after it was discovered that Apple is collecting data on how iPhone users are interacting with the handset’s weather and stock apps. Apparently your IMEI number and the information you requested is being sent to a special tracking server at Apple HQ.
Is this a big deal? It’s not illegal by any means - ZDnet’s The Apple Core blog points out that iPhone users agreed to just this in their End User Licence Agreement. But it will make people wonder what Apple plans to do with this information in the future.
