There’s growing anecdotal evidence (oh, alright, I do it) that iPhone users are using their handsets as quickfire web browsers when loafing in front of the TV at night. With that in mind, what better web application than a TV guide telling you what’s on the box?
UK TV Guide is that app. It lets you see British TV schedules for today and the next five days, using the fat-buttoned design that’ll be familiar to all iPhone users. It covers the main channels on Freeview and Virgin Media, as well as exclusive Sky channels.
It’s just a browsing service, so you can’t search for specific shows. But as a quick ‘What’s on soon’ guide, it does the job very well. Now, what I really want to see in the future is an iPhone-friendly version of Electronic Programme Guides (EPGs) that lets you actually set recordings on your home PVR…
