I bloody love Fox News, I do. I love the fact that you can have a broadcaster that promises “fair and balanced” news, yet simultaneously employs presenters whose sole job is basically to shout at liberals. Yes, I am being a teensy bit sarcastic, but that’s the tofu-munching wet leftie in me. Fox News is frightening.
However, it’s iPhone site is pretty darn impressive. It’s divided into two categories: News and Media. The first has all the latest headlines, which click through to full stories, and even their accompanying photo slideshows. You can browse by section too, including US, World, Politics, SciTech, Health, Entertainment and Opinion.
But it’s the Media part that’s impressive, offering a bunch of video reports, as well as audio and video podcasts, which you can subscribe to through your iPhone. The videos stream using QuickTime, and over Wi-Fi they download pretty quickly, and support the iPhone’s ability to flip into horizontal viewing mode. You don’t have to like Fox News’ editorial policy to be impressed by the site. Now, if the likes of BSkyB and the BBC can follow suit here in the UK, I’d be happy.
