Location-based profiles for Windows Mobile with CommMgrPro

Most mobile phones offer an easy way to set and change ‘profiles’ - commmgrpro a set of saved settings and preferences that can be activated when desired to (e.g.) set your phone on vibrate-only or select a particular ringtone for when you are in certain company (best save that NWA ringtone for when you aren’t over at your gran’s).

Most Windows Mobiles have shortchanged users in this respect - changes have to be made manually and a variety of apps have sprung up to address the problem.

CommMgrPro is a novel take on profile management that lets you automatically change your profile according to where you are. It works by recognising your current Cell ID (much like the new Google Maps faux-GPS) and also lets you associate actions with locations - e.g. when you enter the Cell near where you work you could switch to silent mode, change your wallpaper to a corporate logo and send an SMS to a colleague to ask them to put the kettle on.  Nice.

CommMgrPro is available here and costs 15 Euros.
