Hip hip hooray, common sense prevails once again. A Californian inventor, Ronald Kearns, is in the process of patenting a design for a mobile phone that has a charger plug actually housed in its body. The plug can be flipped down and then the phone can be plugged directly into an outlet.
It certainly solves that age old caught without a charger problem and we have a feeling that this is one design that a fair few handset manufacturers will be kicking themselves for not inventing first. Whether or not some manufacturers will be willing to sacrifice a slender form factor for an inbuilt plug remains to be seen and us Brits working with the three pin plug design will probably never see this.
Still, a good idea is a good idea and it shouldn’t be long before Kearns is laughing all the way to the bank.
