Continuing our ongoing series of quirky Chinese phones, ZTE’s i766 was one of the most western handsets we came across at Mobile World Congress, both in terms of build quality and features.
Perhaps most impressive was its support for TV on its high quality 2.4 inch QVGA touchscreen. The metal cased device also supports GPRS, WAP, web and email. Connectivity was Bluetooth and it had ports for USB and T-flash. Overall dimensions were relatively small - if not quite up to Japanese standards - at 106 x 51 x 16.5mm and 120g.
In fact the only real weaknesses we could see were the 1.3MP camera and the plasticky feel of the back of the phone. Well those and the unconventional keypad layout which instead of the traditional call/soft keys and joypad being above the main number keys had them squashed them all together - presumably a configuration designed for nimble Chinese fingers.

The biggest problem with d phone is that after the phone is on, it starts sending message on its own & would’nt stop untill the battery is removed. It also went off after which it will on itself again
it can adapt speakers and that this is its image quality when watching television these?
put videos on youtube to be able to watch their handling of this cell!

Regarding ZTE i766 automatic sending message problem,mine hanset was also getting the problem like ur handset.after updating the handset(In phone, go to operator services,in that u will get update handset option.after updating the handset,pls switch off ur phone and switch on ur phone.the problem will be solved) the problem got solved.
Please help me I bought recently this cell phone but I donk Know how to put games ,I dont know too put ebooks on this cell phone I788 thnanks
I bought this phone… i am so happy… it is perfect…
but… i cannot find games on internet for it… i have downloaded .jar games and -for touch screen- games but the cellphone do not recognize them…

you can’t found games for it because the cell phone has not a java plataform preinstalled. you can’t put games on it
lo unico que queria saver es si hay un software o un driver para el zte i766 ,,,,,,la verdad puedo vajar - musica - videos-fotos- pero lo que no puedo es bajar juegos,,,,,,ariana tu deves saver bastante de esto …..bueno espero que puedas dar una respuesta mas compleja para poder entender y poder resolver nuestros problemas ,, por que la verdad es que sin juegos no hay diversion ……grasias …..atentamente DIAZ
miren yo estuve averisuando y me meti en google y busque : comcel me meti a su pagina y busque este modelo……. aghi encontre que podes leer el manual..y hay un simulador….
causa soy del peru el celular esta excelente lo malo es que el celular no lee juegos java,alguien sabe que formato admite el celular,chauuuu
