Asian handset manufacturer, MWg, is gearing up for a smartphone assault on European shores. Fitting seeing as that’s where the company’s roots lie having been formed out of the ashes of the ashes of O2’s Asian wing.
Having been acquired by the retailer Expansys, MWg is hoping to make waves with the official launch of its Zinc II and Atom V smartphones in a press conference early next month. The devices will both be packed full of Windows Mobile goodness along with quadband GSM and triband HSDPA, 256MB of ROM and 64MB of RAM, integrated FM radio, WiFi and GPS.
The Atom V will house a 3 megapixel camera while the Zinc II will only have a 2 megapixel offering. Other than that there is very little to speak of besides the Zinc II’s rather nifty looking semi-automatic QWERTY slide out keyboard.
Aren’t MWg pioneers of fancy pants induction charging? Are you thinking what we’re thinking?
