Aftercall for S60

aftercallwindow.gifWhen chatting to someone on the phone I quite often think ‘Oh, I must save that number..’ or ‘I must book that meeting’.  Then I hang up and start doing something else due to lack of a pen or general forgetfulness.

Aftercall is a Symbian S60 app that tries to help you to get those little jobs done in an unobtrusive way as possible.

When you hang up a call, Aftercall will pop up message window detailing the time, date and duration of the call, who the call was to/from and then a list of possible actions.

You can instantly go to your addressbook to save a contact,  your calendar to add an event or meeting, send a text or place another call. The app can be configured to only trigger on new numbers or for missed calls, etc.

How useful is this?  Well, that’s up for debate.  What would be incredibly useful is some speech-recognition that would pluck meeting info direct from the conversation you just had, or some software to automatically make notes during a call but… Aftercall doesn’t do any of that.  What it ultimately boils down to is a set of shortcuts that might just make your working life a tiny bit smoother if you are a mobile phone power user.

Luckily, the app is avaialble as a ten day trial, so you can give it a no-obligation whirl and see if it works for you.

Aftercall costs $9.99 and is available here.
