Myvu signs with O2 to launch video eyewear in the UK

myvu.jpg

Myvu Corporation has signed on the dotted line with O2 to distribute its range of Myvi Crystal video eyewear in the UK.The device is tailor made for viewing video via mobiles and is designed to to connect to any media device with video out functionality - such as the iPhone, Nokia N-Series and most Samsung models.

The video specs’, specs are quite impressive being as they are the industry’s thinnest, lightest video eyewear available boasting the highest pixel density for any video eyewear of thier size, a pendant for power and picture control, noise reducing in-ear earbuds and up to 4-hour battery life supplied by an ultra-lightweight rechargeable battery.

We have to say, aside from the plain as day fact that wearing a pair of Myvu video goggles makes you look like a total berk, we can’t think of enough situations we would use them in to justify their £199.99 price tag. Sure they might be pretty handy if you go on lots of long haul flights, but these are not the sort of think you are likely to use on the commute to work (are they?).

Apparently you can still see your surrounding while wearing them, so missing your stop on the bus/train shouldn’t be a problem but even so, video goggles do seem like a slightly over-designed solution for watching video on the move (unless of course you don’t want anyone else to see what you are watching *cough*)

It’s your choice obviously and if you are interested, the Myvu Crystal premium range of video eyewear is being unveiled at O2’s flagship store at the O2 Arena, formerly the Millennium Dome shortly, before a potentially much bigger roll out across O2’s stores nationwide.
