Uniross launching eco-friendly battery chargers

uniross-wind-charger.jpgOne day, every gadget will be solar-powered. It makes sense to harness the sun’s rays to power our handheld devices - and certainly more sense than lugging around seven different chargers when we go on holiday. The downside? On the average cloudy British summer holiday, you might end up out of juice.

Anyway, battery firm Uniross has just unveiled a new range of eco-friendly battery chargers, including a Solar Charger that comes with a USB adapter to power gadgets. We’re a bit unclear about just how many mobile phones it’ll work with, however - hopefully you can get some kind of Nokia / Sony Ericsson / iPhone adapter. The charger costs £39.99, anyway.

Meanwhile, there’s also a 15 Minute Charger, which does what it says on the tin - it claims to charge any battery in less than 15 minutes. Better still, there’s a Wind Charger (pictured), which you can mount on your bike, and then convert passing wind (not that kind) into power, with USB output as well as phone and game connectors. That one costs £49.99.

The new range goes on sale in August.
