We’ve all done it. Called someone we have to call, but secretly hoped it’d go straight to voicemail so we wouldn’t have to talk to them. It might be a work contact, a partner or ex, or anyone for whom we get a guilty jolt of pleasure when their voicemail message kicks in.
Well, there’s a service for people like us. It’s called Slydial, it’s launched in the US, and it lets you dial someone’s number and get connected straight to their voicemail, even if their phone is on and not being used. It works by calling the main Slydial number, and then entering the mobile number of the person you want to call.
The service is free if you listen to an ad before getting put through, although you can pay to skip this. It’s the work of a company called MobileSphere, and it’s just gone live in beta form this week. Of course, it doesn’t stop the other person calling you back when they get your message, but if you need to buy a little time, it’s perfect. Bring this to the UK!
