Ultraportables, netbooks, call ‘em what you will - those tiny ickle laptops typified by the Asus Eee PC are everywhere at the moment.
Dell’s effort - the Inspiron Mini 9 - seems about standard, albeit with the comforting (to some) Dell branding. Vodafone are offering the Mini 9 together with a built-in broadband-capable SIM on a 24 month contract.
Yes, it is a bit big to use as a mobile phone - although it is certainly capable of running Skype, etc. Nevertheless, as I recently managed to fit my Eee PC in my coat pocket (a big coat, admittedly) I think this definitely counts as Pocket Picks fodder.
With a decent data tariff this could be the ideal solution for soemone who needs to work remotely but a) can’t cope with just a smartphone and b) doesnt quite need a full-on laptop.
