Long queues expected for the iPhone… at Phones 4u?!?

iphone-hand1.jpgWith the iPhone launch about 24 hours away, it seems UK consumers are still getting confused about where they can buy it and think it’ll be widely on sale.

A YouGov survey has shown that a quarter of people still think they can buy an iPhone from Phones 4u. This is despite O2 and The Carphone Warehouse doing their best to get people to buy the iPhone from them.

The survey claimed that 24% of people were thinking of going to Phones 4u and The Link for their iPhone, while others were going to go to Currys (21%), Dixons (22%), even department store John Lewis (19%).

There was one bit of good news though. The number of people telling YouGov it was a ‘high likelihood’ that they would buy an iPhone has risen up 2% to 3% of consumers questioned.

Fly Mobile launches prepay touchscreen device for Virgin Mobile

Fly Mobile.jpegEmerging manufacturer Fly Mobile has announced its latest handset, a low-end prepay handset that’s probably one of the cheapest touchscreen handsets around.

The SLT 100 comes in pink (for the ladies) and black (for men), and is the third handset from Fly Mobile. The SLT 100 does also feature a traditional keyboard and has a two-megapixel camera, Bluetooth, FM radio (And the exclusive FM record function for saving radio programmes), MP3 player and memory card support.

The SLT 100 is available as a pre-pay handset with Virgin Mobile and you’ll be able to get it, if you wish, from Currys, The Link Online and Argos. Pricing hasn’t yet been confirmed, but it will almost certainly be very reasonably priced.
