Sony Ericsson’s popular range of Walkman-branded handsets looks like its about to grow by one, with the appearance of this new (as-yet unnamed, but we’re guessing it’ll be the W890) phone. The most prominent point of note is the ‘3.2 megapixel’ description on the back of the handset. If that’s correct, this slimline successor to the W880 (which had a 2MP shooter) could pack some serious punch. The screen looks to be QVGA-size, there’s an M2 Memory Stick slot, and — possibly — autofocus for the camera.

Okay, it’s not the most exciting looking handset in the world, but we’re not sure that these shots of the 8600 Luna’s big brother, the 8900, are quite about to make us ‘barf’ like IntoMobile. But hats off anyway to the IM guys for posting the pics, which originated on the NokiaPort.de forums.
After the rather lurid green and black Z8, Motorola’s new orange and black ROKR W5 seems almost tame in comparison. Word is that it’ll have mini USB and a microSD card slot, but only a 1.3MP camera… Please, Motorola, what is this — 2005?
Fresh pics of Motorola’s upcoming MOTOROKR U9 handset have bubbled up on that there internet. Sized at 90 x 48.6 x 16.4mm and weighing in at 87.5g, the U9 is derived from the existing PEBL line.
Sporting a QVGA (240 x 320 pixel) screen, a 2MP camera sensor, microSD card slot, and — it’s thought — an external OLED display (Cocoon-style), the U9 is to be pitched as a music player. But lacking a 3.5mm headphone jack as it does, it’d better have stereo Bluetooth otherwise it’ll seriously miss the mark. More pics after that there jump.
