Nokia stress test videos are not for queesy gadget obsessives

Christmas time is a time that we all start to crave those delicious electronic consumer sweet meats all the more, so that’s why, just to keep everything on a level, we thought we’d counter the gadget worship with some gratuitous and somewhat gruesome videos of Nokia phones being destroyed.

These are not your garden variety, bored, spoilt children with too much time and a video camera kind of videos either, these are official videos filmed by Nokia, of the extensive stress testing processes that all handsets undergo, deep in the belly of Nokia HQ.

If you are the sort of person that still squeals like a Japanese cartoon character when you cop your first glance of the latest mobile, then perhaps the following video (courtesy of the Nokia Conversations blog) is not for you. You have been forewarned.



Nokia XpressMusic 5800 gets touched up

It recently occurred to us that though we have had plenty to say about Nokia’s first touchscreen phone, the Nokia XpressMusic 5800, we haven’t really seen much in the way of live action of the device.

So, if a picture speaks a thousand words, an embedded YouTube video from Nokia’s own, Nokia Conversations channel must speak, well, we don’t want to put a number on it but it’s way more than a thousand. Anyhoo, without further rambling, here is the Nokia XpressMusic 5800 being prodded, poked and demoed to bits for your viewing pleasure.

New official Nokia blog goes live

nokia-blog.pngIt’s not often that we will encourage our readers to read other blogs, but it’s not often that a company blog as refreshing and genuinely interesting as Nokia’s new mildly pretentious sounding Nokia Conversations comes along.

The idea behind the site is that it will feature posts concerning current areas of research, interest and trends that already exist as a dialogue between Nokia employees. The content isn’t necessarily news in the conventional sense but rather an elucidation of Nokia related issues that are both driving and hindering the mobile industry.
