It’s official the iPhone is truck proof. Actually it isn’t official at all so don’t go looking for your nearest 18 wheeler to throw your iPhone under.
Even so, for one lucky/unlucky iPhone owner (depending on how you look at it), an impromptu brush with some tarmac and a very heavy vehicle has left his device with little more than a few dead pixels and the odd missing chunk of plastic as evidence. Better still the device still works perfectly.
Apparently the owner of the device, Mike Beauchamp, left it on the bonnet of his car and drove off only realizing his mistake later and returning to retrieve it just in time to see it get run over (oh the humanity!).
Still Beauchamp probably won’t be too glum as not only does his device still work, touchscreen an all, but he is apparently negotiating with Apple’s PR folk to turn the incident into some sort of promotional stunt for the company. Every cloud has a silver lining and all that…
