It may have been beaten to the App Store by Typepad, but WordPress’ official iPhone app has finally made its debut. The free app lets you create and edit posts on your iPhone, and works with blogs on WordPress.com, as well as self-installed WordPress blogs using v2.5.1 and higher.
I’ve been having a play with it this morning, and it seems pretty slick. You can access multiple blogs from within the application, and setting them up is as simple as typing in their URL and your login details.
You can set tags and categories, post photos directly from the iPhone, and save posts as drafts for later editing, or put them live. There’s an embedded browser too, allowing you to see how they’ll look. Handily, the app auto-recovers your posts if you’re interrupted by a phone call.
If you’re an iPhone-toting WordPress blogger, it’s an essential download (not least because it’s free). Click here to get it from the App Store.
Bango, which specialises in mobile payment provision, has launched a one-touch access to mobile content from users’ social networking sites, or blogs.
